Nature Inspired Fine Art by Meghan Aileen

For thousands of years, humans have made art to document our relationship with the natural world...from cave art to ancient textiles, to the great landscapes of the Hudson River School painters.

Today, our lives have become increasingly removed from the rhythms of nature and the ecosystems we need to survive, and to thrive.
These tapestries are an exploration of the memory of our connection.

Each painted tapestry begins with raw canvas aged with original techniques, natural pigments, and weathered by Mother Nature herself to create a surface that already carries the feeling of time. Memories of landscapes are then built through pigment and paint, allowing the character of the cloth, and the image to become one. Some memories are clearer than others, but each tells a story.

The pieces carry the names of women, symbols of the many names of Mother Nature, and the qualities she can teach us if we listen closely...if we return to her.

We have never really been separate from the natural world...we are woven into it. We just have to REMEMBER.

Bringing Nature Into Your Home

I paint how nature makes me feel, the peacefulness it brings when we connect to the natural world around us.

My art often shows the beauty of the ecosystems all around us from the tiny ones in our backyards to the cosmos.

I use various mediums, but oils were my first love at 8 years old. I still love to feel them blend! I try to use natural pigments mixed with oil mostly. I paint on old found wood, linen and cotton canvas.

My paintings and photography have been featured in various magazines, my design work has been sold on retail products, my art on stage at huge music festivals and more.

I would be honored to have my work in your home.
